Work undertaken:
We are in high demand for final drive repairs, most customers post there units to us from all over the UK and occasionally even further. Once we receive your unit we do an inspection this incurs an £80.00 fee, this covers the cost of inspecting it and return postage. The cost of the inspection fee will be deducted from the job if we can go ahead.
We are currently working towards a two-three week turn around for final drives, We do offer an express one week service this will cost £80.00 incl VAT on top of your final bill.
If necessary we will replace the crown wheel bearings & seals, input shaft bearing & seal, pivot bush upgrade kit for early oil cooled models & early K models. Backlash & preload shimming will be done if required (this does incur an extra cost)
For final drive thread repairs we use time-sert inserts, not inferior Helicoils.
Please note:
We only use genuine BMW bearings and seals, they are different to even aftermarket O.E.M FAG & INA bearings, it’s to do with tolerances and seals are directional.
R1200 & 1250 liquid cooled final drives currently only have genuine seals available no genuine BMW bearings are available, only aftermarket ones which we find are not good enough quality for us to use and guarantee our work. So currently the only option is a genuine new unit at an eye watering £1500 Inc vat (02/2022) .
If your bike is under 5 years old with a full service history, you maybe able to persuade BMW into a good will gesture.
